Year 10 students took part in a Careers Day on Thursday 28th September. They spent part of the day taking part in 30 minute careers-taster sessions, each one focusing on a different industry, to give them an overview of the sorts of careers available in that sector and what sort of person they would suit.
The other part of their day was spent in a Money Twist workshop, delivered by charity MyBank (www.mybnk.org), which covered hands-on sessions in personal finance, expenditure and budgeting; all designed to get the students thinking and caring about their finances, both now and as they get older.
Students said of the day:
“I liked the electrical session because the visitor was really interesting and made his career sound fun”.
“The MyBank session was best because I enjoyed it and it was beneficial for me.”
