County School Games

Students from across Kingsmead’s year groups competed in Handball, Table Tennis and Parallel Cricket at the Somerset School Games which were held at Millfield School on Friday 13 April.

Great results for Kingsmead!

Handball:

  • Year 9/10 boys squad won gold and are Somerset champions.  They have been invited to compete in the Regional Finals which will be held on 2nd May.
  • Year 7/8 boys squad won silver and are Somerset runners up.
  • Year 9/10 girls squad won bronze with the Year 7/8 girls squad taking fourth place.

Table Tennis:

  • Tom Penny and Jack Manning won gold and are county champions in the Somerset state school 'open entry' pairs Table Tennis competition.  Tom also won silver in the individual competition.
  • Heidi Oaten won gold and is county champion and Holly Lovell-Fox won silver in the Somerset state school ‘open entry’ Table Tennis individual competition.

Parallel Cricket:-

  • One of our Kingsmead teams won gold and first place in the competition.  Another achieved fourth place and a ‘fair play/best sporting attitude’ award.
