Kingsmead School Wiveliscombe held a special Remembrance Assembly on November 11th. Leader of Learning – Humanities Phil Arnold gave a presentation to students about the impact of war and how fatalities and injuries affect both individuals and their families.

Career ‘speed dating’

Year 10 students experienced careers ‘speed dating’ to help them build their knowledge of the wide variety of careers available to them upon leaving education. The school welcomed a number of industry representatives who gave their time to explain both what their employment involves and the training and qualifications needed for entry and success.

Kingsmead Samba Band celebrates their new equipment which was puchased Using a £500 grant from EMI.

Pizza Oven

Kingsmead students had a great couple of days working with Frank Blaker, Mandy and Rosie Johnson using traditional cob building techniques to make a pizza oven. Using materials donated by RGB Building Supplies students mixed the clay and straw by stamping on it with bare feet and got wonderfully messy!
