Year 9 students had their Careers Day on Wednesday 4th May. They spent the day taking part in 30 minute careers-taster sessions learning about industries ranging from Construction, Retail, the Army and the Government and Environment. Presentations were also given on Post-16 options from College and University Representatives. Visitors provided detailed overviews which will help students in making better informed career decisions.
Engineering students in Year 9 also spent part of the day with Simon Kettle of STEMworks (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). They worked on two challenges - one to make a simple generator using a magnet and coil of wire and the second to create a wind turbine to produce electricity.
