Carnegie Shadowing Programme

The CILIP Carnegie medal is one of the most prestigious children's book awards and is awarded by children's librarians for an outstanding book for children and young people.

Every week for the past five weeks, four groups of year 8 and 9 students have been reading one of the books short-listed for the Carnegie prize and then meeting to discuss their thoughts.  The students will vote for their favourite book prior to the awards made by the official Carnegie judges on 20 June 2016.

This has been a great opportunity for the students involved to discover new books and authors, develop their oral and writing skills and collaborate with fellow readers.
