This year’s Red Nose Day was on Friday 19 March and Kingsmead joined in with the fun and fundraising:
A ‘Time to Laugh’ ran during the week, where each tutor group shared and voted on their best two jokes in their tutor group (with the best two winning a prize and being shared via Firefly for the whole school to enjoy in afternoon registration time on Friday).
Students enjoyed a non-school uniform day with a twist – each year group was asked to wear an item of clothing in the colour of their year group tutor praise postcard. With students wearing Green, Blue, Red, Yellow and Purple, a rainbow theme was visible in school - as a thank you to keyworkers, NHS staff, parents and students for supporting each other through lockdown.
Year 7 tutor groups ran games, quizzes and competitions during Friday lunchtime – there was ‘guess the sweets in the jar’, a ‘lucky dip’, ‘pin the tail on the donkey’, ‘ping-pong ball challenge’ and more.
Thank you to all who got involved – just over £980 was raised for this worthwhile cause. Well Done.
