Open Stage

Students took to the ‘Open Stage’ at the end of January when they entertained family and friends in a variety style show. Audiences were wowed by the vast array of talents from our students including Enya Kneeshaw (Year 10) rapping the 'Queen's Speech', singing, dancing, gymnastics and an amazing magic trick presented by Elliot Risely (Year 9). A short play ‘Sparkle Shark’ was enacted by students who are part of a drama club organised by Year 10 Chloe King. Students in the Blue Weasel Choir sang “Trail of the Lonesome Pine” and “Good Morning Baltimore” from Hairspray.

Year 10 Careers Day

On 15th January Year 10 students spent the day in 30 minute careers-taster sessions learning about industries as diverse as Construction, Retail, Engineering and the Army. Visitors provided students with a detailed overview of their employment to enable them to make better informed career decisions. This comes at a crucial time, as Year 10 are starting the process of information gathering prior to making post-16 training decisions. Thank you to all our visitors for giving up their time to support the careers programme at Kingsmead School.
